He began his current position as the Federal Forest Restoration Coordinator for ODF, Klamath-Lake district in February of this year. His main role has been working with the Fremont-Winema N.F. on developing joint Good Neighbor Authority agreements and implementation plans since the Master GNA Agreement was signed this spring. When time allows, Cale is working towards his bachelors degree in Natural Resources.
Making Use of Good Neighbor Authority
Good Neighbor Authority provides the opportunity for the state to implement restoration projects on federal land, including the administration of timber sales and the use any program revenue generated to be used on further restoration. This talk will explore the possibilities of using GNA in Oregon, share our current understanding of the necessary ingredients, and discuss a current pilot project between ODF and USFS on the Fremont-Winema NF.
